About
The objective of Rainbow Kidz is to build a clearer and more easily accessible training and competitive pathway for players aged 10 and under. The focus is on being introduced to competition and learn the rules for matchplay. The aim is to give skills for life, get children into the game improve tennis skills and learn the rules so when they transition into the u/12 section they are more confident and prepared.
Red Ball players will play on Saturday ONLY. Red ball is suitable for player aged U/8 and younger. Matches are played in the service boxes using 1-2-3-4 scoring.
Orange – For players that are physically too small to compete on the normal size tennis court, as the size of the court will allow technical, tactical, physical and mental competencies to develop.
Orange Ball players will play on the Saturday ONLY. Orange ball is played from the 3/4 court (half way between the service line and baseline) using love-15-30-40 scoring.
Green – For players that can score and have some match play experience, even if it was just practice matches. Also, for better players to develop the necessary tennis skills and be better equipped to transition into the u/12 section.
Green Ball players will play on Saturday AND Sunday. Playoff matches will be played on Sunday. Green ball is played from the baseline using love-15-30-40 scoring.
