Scoring system:
Ladies - PAR to 15
Men's O35/O40/O45/O50 - PAR to 11

Being relatively to new to the masters competitions, I am not a fan of the seeding system where the best players are set against the weakest players. Considering a player may only have 2 games over the weekend it is a pity that the first game will invariably be a walkover for one player, with the other hoping that winner will take it a little easy to give him a game. This does neither player justness and is usually a wasted game. Far better would be a Monrad type draw where players of similar standards are competing.
I realise that Sporty HQ does not support this function and has some faults with differing draw systems but if pressure is put on them through Scottish squash and other users, I am sure that the can write programmes to suit.

A great, friendly atmosphere at the club and really good to see the event supported with good numbers of entries across the age groups. Thanks to all involved.

Well done to Jennifer and Grant for running the first tournament of the year. It was good to see Forthill back open for business (much better location that a Council run sports centre....)

I understand that it was very time sensitive to get the club open as there was last minute changes like the cleaning of the walls and the apparent upgrade of the Ladies Changing rooms, which I never saw, but the forthcoming upgrade of the Men’s changing rooms will be welcome.

Jennifer must have been taking Red Bull as she was everywhere up and down th stairs the whole weekend seeing to everyone’s questions and needs. Also good to get a club with plenty of car parking as well.

Good to see Forthill open for business again.

My first masters tournament and gave me an appetite for more. Well run and attended. The club is going through major refurbishment and has been heavily invested in. When these ongoing works are completed in the next few months this club will be a 5* venue.
